Why this site?
We believe the DC-Maryland-Virginia (DMV) area is underrated and it has the potential to be a hotspot for startups and entrepreneurs. We've seen that there is a plethora of tech and entrepreneurship talent, but few ways of connecting that talent. We have the patches, but not the fabric. This website is an effort to compile all the patches, and provide visibility into the startup scene for someone thinking of starting their journey, or moving their journey into the area.
Who are we?
Our group is composed of volunteers, who are founders or aspiring entrepreneurs, united by a common vision to elevate our region into one of the nation's premier startup hubs. Sponsored by the Pitch Labs team within Petri Dish, a 501(c)3 organization in the DC area, our mission is to help build up our local startup scene. We are individuals who have chosen to call the DC area our home. We collaborate closely with a diverse network of meetup groups, nonprofits, and companies, all dedicated to work towards the same goal of improving the area as a whole. If the DMV startup community grows, we all grow.
